Mat pilates involves performing pilates exercises on the floor using a mat. Exercises in mat pilates can also involve basic props such as a pilates ring, resistance band, or weighted balls. Mat pilates exercises are performed in a slow, controlled, precise manner and require intense concentration. These exercises help strengthen the body's core by developing pelvic and scapula stability, and abdominal control, using focused breathing patterns. The main fitness goals of a mat pilates program include improved flexibility, muscle tone, balance, spinal support, low back health, sports performance and mind-body awareness.
The TRX System, also known as Total Resistance Exercises, was developed by a former U.S. Navy SEAL. TRX is a form of suspension training that uses body weight exercises to develop strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously. It requires the use of the TRX Suspension Trainer, a performance training tool that leverages gravity and the user’s body weight to complete the exercises.
Blending both TRX as well as Pilates moves into a well balanced full-body workout either by 50/50 TRX and pilates specific exercises or incorporating pilates exercises while utilizing the TRX suspension system.
Designed by a Balanced Body master instructor, the Springboard™ is a space-saving piece of Pilates equipment, bolted to the wall, that provides an invigorating full-body spring-resistance workout.
Roll & Restore
Utilizing a foam roller, foam rolling is a type of myofascial release. Rolling releases tight muscles by massaging the connective tissue, the fascia, via self massage. It's a great way to warm up the body prior to exercise by increasing blood flow to the muscles as well as improve your workouts as the muscles will be able to move with more ease and perform correctly.
Semi-Private & Private Reformer Pilates
The reformer is the most famous pieces of Pilates equipment. The reformer offers all the benefits of Pilates including overall strength, flexibility, coordination and balance. These things in turn, lead to daily life improvements such as better posture and for many, relief from pain associated with physical imbalances such as back pain.
